Maro Petkovich, Jr. has been Elected to the Board of Directors of the Croatian American Society:
Bowes, Petkovich & Palmer, LLC is pleased to announce that the membership of the Croatian American Society has elected Maro Petkovich, Jr. to its Board of Directors. Maro’s term will begin January 1, 2025, and he will serve a two-year term before being up for reelection.
Maro Petkovich, Jr. is a current resident of Belle Chasse and lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. He is the son of Maro Petkovich and grandson of Josip and Mirjana Petkovich of Dubrovnik. He is the father of Eli Josip Petkovich and Sofija V. Petkovich and is engaged to Katherine Womac to whom he will marry in April 2025. Maro graduated from Buras High School in 2004, prior to attending LSU where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2008 and law degree in 2011.
Maro currently the managing member of Bowes, Petkovich & Palmer, LLC located in Gretna. His practice focuses on representing various local and national banks in all areas of creditor’s rights. He also oversees the estate planning and probate departments at the firm. Maro spent his childhood summer and winter breaks working on his father’s oyster boat. While his oyster boat days are long over, he enjoys volunteering his time shucking oysters with CAS at the various festivals. He has become a more active member of CAS the past couple years, as well as a sponsor of the Croatian Festival. He is a member of the by-laws committee who was recently tasked with revising CAS’s by-laws and operating agreement.
